Adam's head-down shame-filled announcement (and subsequent dash away from questions) reflects his own stark immaturity and lack of comfort in his own young skin. This is a far better indication of his lack of readiness for the mayoral race than his sexual practices.

I agree with what my hubby says about all these scandalous celebs and political figures….”who cares”? We don’t, however, while in line at a department store last week I noticed a “middle aged” woman collecting a variety of “celeb news” magazines and placing them on the counter for purchase. She had to have at least five (I had not idea there were so many…). I couldn’t bear to spend that kind of money unless the magazine had a recipe in it. So, in answer to my hubby’s “who cares”? People like that woman buying those magazines, that’s who. I am tempted to say, “people without a life”, but I don’t know anythng about that woman, except that she is lining someone’s pockets. Scandal sells. Unfortunately.
It’s a vicious cycle! The more gossip magazines we buy… the more the paparazzi are encouraged and fed…the more the celebs are chased (and this is dangerous…remember how lady Diana died)… the more tittilating meaningless gossip we see on the covers…the more we feel unsatisifed with our own boring lives…the more magazines we buy to chase that feeling away…and so on! Yes, the answer is, in part, to “get a life” of our own so we don’t fill up on the lives of others, which ultimately leaves us feeling empty. Someone will soon find a label for an addiction to celebrity gossip. For me, it’s like chocolate. I can stop myself from buying it (most of the time), but if it’s there (like the magazines in the hair dressers or waiting rooms), I must consume it!
